Nobody who’s watched General Hospital for more than a week is really worried that Sonny is going to be spending the rest of his life behind bars. The Teflon don has more Get Out of Jail Free cards than he does pinky rings. But what we’re all wondering, the same as Sonny himself, is who ratted him out.
The mobster, as we all know, doesn’t take betrayal lightly. So the culprit could only be someone fearless or crazy, someone exactly like… Cyrus. The show certainly seems to want us to believe that he’s the whistleblower, what with him ranting about how “today the almighty will focus his cleansing vengeance on those who collaborate with our great enemy” and all that.
But if there’s one thing that history has taught us, it’s that if General Hospital is leading us down a path, it’s almost guaranteed to be a misleading one. In other words, if Cyrus has “I did it!” written all across his forehead — and he does — his forehead is lying.
