NCIS LA star Chris O’Donnell may be best known for playing Agent Callen but he did have a romantic spark with Meredith Grey in Grey’s Anatomy as well.
NCIS LA’s Chris O’Donnell played an important role in the love story of Grey’s Anatomy’s Meredith Grey almost 20 years ago.
Agent Callen (played by Chris O’Donnell) was shrouded in mystery at the start of the CBS police procedural and not even knowing his real name.
But by the time NCIS LA came to an end in season 14, he knew more about his identity and got to marry the love of his life Anna Kolchek (Bar Paly).
Prior to his time on the NCIS spin-off, actor Chris O’Donnell featured in a number of other projects like Batman Forever, Two and a Half Men, The Practice and The Sisters.
But it was 17 years ago the star also cropped up in ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy as a love interest for Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo).
O’Donnell was behind Dr Finn Dandridge, a vet who treated Derek Shepherd’s (Patrick Dempsey) dog Doc who was diagnosed with bone cancer.
While Meredith was being supportive and waiting for Doc at the vets, Finn asked her out on a date which she initially refused but later accepted.
They went on four dates without kissing as Meredith feared she was too damaged but after reassuring her she wasn’t, the pair passionately locked lips.
She then invited him to attend the hospital prom with her but things started to take a downward turn from there for the potential couple.
Meredith clearly still had feelings for Derek and they ended up having sex in the exam room.
She later told both Derek and Finn she was going to date both of them and see how it goes.
Finn was sweet, bringing treats like coffee cake and homemade strawberry ice cream made by one of his patients but when he saw Derek was escorting Meredith home after a night out, he wasn’t happy.
Derek and Finn rowed with Meredith caught in the middle and storming off, frustrated by both of them.
In a season three episode, Meredith needed an appendectomy and Finn waited for her while she was having the surgery.
Post-operation, Derek told her he was walking away so she could get on with dating Finn.
But despite him ending things, Meredith told Finn how Derek was the man for her.
Hurt by the break-up, Finn said Derek would only hurt her again and he wouldn’t be waiting for her when he did.
